About 530 Indian Grve — Duke Condos
In the West-End, the Toronto-based developers TAS — known for developments such as M5V Condos and Dia Condominiums — delivered great work in 2016 with an environmentally conscious and stylish residence that still surpasses standards for sustainability and fits well into a charming and very proud neighbourhood. At 530 Indian Grove, Duke Condos celebrate the eclectic, passionate community in the Junction.
In a neighbourhood that features beautiful Heritage architecture, like the Annette Street Library and rows of Gothic houses, one would think the Duke Condos don’t fit in, yet the work by Quadrangle Architects successfully complements its surroundings.
Facing Dundas, the Duke Condos' front façade features a vibrant range of windows and cantilevered living spaces that smartly carve out shelters for some private balconies. On the Duke’s south side, the upper levels carefully offer unobstructed views of the neighbourhood by rising in steps topped with terraces. Finally, all around the building’s exterior, white masonry respectfully recognizes the Junction’s Victorian history in a modern way.
Exercising eco-friendly principles, the Duke attracts residents who value sustainability. In-suite energy recovery ventilators, harvest planters lining terraces and a beautiful green roof make environmentally friendly living an easy part of life at 2803 Dundas West.
Though prospective residents will enjoy the building’s state-of-the-art exercise room and party room, the Duke does not boast a grand list of amenities. However, more amenities would be unnecessary since residents live in the Junction, whose vibrant, engaging community that will provide more than they can ask for.
The Suites
At the Duke Condos there are 92 Toronto condos in total, ranging from almost 450 to over 1500 square feet. Two are townhomes, and five are two-storey live/work lofts accessed through the south laneway, while all the units are designed with comfort and efficiency at the forefront.
The finishes found at 530 Indian Grove are chosen thoughtfully by TAS and are of the highest quality. This means engineered hardwood floors, Scavolini kitchens with stone countertops and integrated stainless steel appliances, and porcelain tiled bathrooms that feature deep soak tubs or walk-in showers.
Finally, the unique architecture of the building means quality exposures in every suite. That, along with generous nine-foot ceilings throughout means that all Toronto condos for sale at 530 Indian will feel bright and fresh.
The Neighbourhood
The nearby Dundas and Keele intersection gives the Duke Condos their regal name (see those streets' first two letters), but it's the neighbourhood, The Junction - West End, that makes people really want to live here. With either a coffee shop or local pub seemingly at every corner, and bakeries, breweries, restaurants, and antique, independent and artisan shops all around, this neighbourhood’s charm makes its distance from the city’s core insignificant.
Though residents will enjoy the commercial aspects of the neighbourhood, it’s the community that they will ultimately fall in love with. The Junction’s residents constantly congregate with a schedule full of distinct festivals, like their Design Crawl, Pumpkinfest and celebration of the Solstice.
Residents of 530 Indian Grove will enjoy the local restaurant scene’s many talented chefs, but may also become great cooks themselves. The wonderful array of produce at the Junction Farmers Market can be inspirational. It runs Saturday’s most the year, and is just down the street from the condos, at the historic Junction Train Platform.
Duke Condos' residents will be also happy to know that High Park is close by, no more than a short walk south of the Junction. It’s a wonderful place to bring a picnic fresh from the farmer’s market!
Transportation
With so many Torontonians charmed to explore the Junction, it’s a well-served TTC area. Many buses run regularly through the neighbourhood.
Residents of the Duke find that the 40 Junction route to be their primary option; it runs along Dundas between Runnymede Road and Dundas West Station. At Dundas West Station, residents can transfer onto other buses, or access the Bloor-Danforth subway line.
530 Indian Grove Residents who drive are in an advantageous. From the West-End, Dundas will take them all the way through the core to the east end. Though, drivers going that far should definitely take Keele south, leading to the Gardiner, in just over five minutes, or go north about ten minutes to get onto either the 401 or 400.
