About 70 Temperance Street — INDX
Anyone looking for a sleek, sumptuous, and impressive home in the heart of Toronto’s Financial District can look no further than the INDX Condos. And considering the building’s size, the developers must have know there’s a sizeable market for condos like these.
Lifetime Developments and CentreCourt Developments came together to create the 54-storey edifice at 70 Temperance Street, which is broken down into 798 units. The developers enlisted Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects to design the building, which consists of a horizontally layered glass tower with rectangular details all the way up.
Completed in 2016, the façade isn’t the only contemporary aspect of the INDX Condos. The amenities also appeal to the modern-minded individual—those required to wear suits to work in particular.
As if the developers knew residents living at 70 Temperance would be too busy to go out exploring much of the time, they stocked the building with virtually anything one can ask for. To start, there’s a poker room, a games room with billiards and foosball tables, and even a virtual golf room and a putting green. The most extravagant feature is arguably the tasting room, which residents hopefully put to good use.
Other — more standard — amenities include a theatre room, a fitness centre with yoga studio, weights, and cardio equipment, and a party room with both an indoor and outdoor area. Residents can also relax outside in one of the cabana booths on the INDX Condos’ common terrace, or get serious in the boardroom when necessary.
Those living at the INDX Condos also have access to a 24-hour concierge and a car share program. And the building’s direct connection to the PATH will come in great handy during the coldest months of the year.
The Suites
To set the mood, we’ll start by informing readers of the most extravagant features found within the homes at the INDX Condos: the undercounter wine fridges. In addition to these extras, the open-concept suites are all elegantly decorated by Cecconi Simone, and most feature private outdoor spaces.
While the building is certainly geared to professionals, there’s no telling who might be attracted to the range of suites found within the building. With homes starting at around 400 and reaching to approximately 1,200 square feet, single buyers and sizeable families alike can find what they’re looking for with these Toronto condos for sale.
The fact that there are nearly 800 units in the building not only means these homes are likely to appear on the market rather frequently, but also that they come in a variety of layouts. Prospective buyers can expect to find studios, one bedroom, one bedroom plus den, two bedroom, two plus den, and three bedroom suites—and then of course there are the penthouses.
The Neighbourhood
Located in the City Centre neighbourhood, it really doesn’t get more central than the INDX Condos: unique, high-density areas such as Old Toronto, the Entertainment District, and St. Lawrence surround the building.
And while the immediate area is best known for its soaring towers and the suited employees working within them, there are plenty of options for entertainment and dining to explore as well.
Dowtown Toronto’s largest indoor shopping mall, the Eaton Centre, is just around the corner, as are a number of theatres such as the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre and the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Sports and music fans alike will also love living so close to the Rogers Centre and the Air Canada Centre, both of which are within walking distance from 70 Temperance.
Although countless restaurants surround the building, residents who prefer to cook for themselves (when they have the time that is) can head over to McEwan on Wellington Street, the Market by Longo’s at Brookfield Place, or Saks Food Hall by Pusateri’s, located in the basement of Saks Fifth Avenue.
Transportation
Living directly above the PATH means residents can walk to many destinations year-round without having to brave the elements. Whether making the journey underground or on street level, residents of the INDX Condos can reach either Osgoode or Queen Station in around 5 minutes.
Even Union Station — Toronto’s major transportation hub — takes just 10 minutes to reach on foot. From here, residents can hop onto GO buses or trains, VIA Rail trains, or the UP Express to Pearson International Airport.
Last but not least, drivers living at 70 Temperance also have an easy time getting around, thanks to the building’s close proximity to a couple of major highways. The Gardiner Expressway can be reached in minutes via Bay Street, while drivers can connect onto the Don Valley Parkway shortly thereafter.
