    About 8 Gladstone Avenue8 G

The 8 Gladstone Lofts is a far cry from the traditional Toronto condominium. For that matter, it’s unique façade sets itself apart from most condos on the continent. Fortunately, our city has an innovative developer like Streetcar Developments to sprinkle the market with some zest (and even a little zing).

Built in 2013, these soft lofts at 8 Gladstone Avenue not only set the standard for forthcoming buildings in the city, they also offer current and prospective owners an idyllic combination of comfort and style. For the façade, Streetcar opted for glass, glass, and more glass, with large panes interspersed with concrete, steel, and deep red brick.

While any passersby will surely become curious — jealous even — of the balconies and terraces that extend from the walls, these aren’t the only feature of note. The 8 Gladstone Lofts also offer residents a movie room, a gym, and even grooming facilities — for pets, of course.

    The Suites

While it should come as no surprise, even the suites at 8 Gladstone Avenue are alluring. As contemporary soft lofts, these homes have the benefit of embracing modern, sleek interior designs. Fashioned as blank slates, minimalists will adore the clean look of these Toronto lofts for sale, while those with more eclectic styles will equally enjoy the decorating process.

With oversized windows throughout the 8 Gladstone Lofts, all of these homes are idyllically sun-kissed. Warm natural sunlight also has the chance to seep into every corner of these lofts, thanks to their open-concept layouts. Furthermore, the balconies at 8 Gladstone are spacious as well, for days when residents really want to soak up the sun.

In terms of size, the largest of units at 8 Gladstone Avenue reaches to approximately 1,200 square feet. Penthouse units are ideal for those in need of privacy, as they span two levels each and boast their own personal rooftop terraces. Those looking for more humble spaces to rest their heads will be content with the smaller suites at the 8 Gladstone Lofts, which begin at around 500 square feet.

    The Neighbourhood

With its location in Little Portugal, residents of the 8 Gladstone Lofts are well situated for both work and play. Those making the commute to the financial district can reach the office via a quick ride along Queen Street West, while the rest of downtown Toronto is within reach as well.

In terms of play, on the other hand, the Queen West neighbourhood can’t be beat. This area was even named one of the coolest in the world by Vogue Magazine, thanks to its array of independent boutiques, galleries, bars, and restaurants. The neighbourhood even has a couple of “art hotels,” the Drake and the Gladstone, where visitors can sip on craft cocktails or attend some of the hottest parties of the year.

Surprisingly, for such a trendy area, Queen West also has a laid back vibe. On sunny Sundays, sidewalks become crowded with anything from baby carriages to hand-holding couples to French Bulldogs. Residents of Little Portugal also tend to favour Trinity Bellwoods Park for their choice of green space. Here, neighbours gather for picnics, pickup games of Frisbee or baseball, tennis matches, or even skating or indoor swimming in the winter. Trinity Bellwoods also boasts an off-leash dog area and a playground for little ones to explore.

    Transportation

Residents of the 8 Gladstone Lofts are never disadvantaged for their preference of transportation. Whether one prefers to drive, cycle, walk, or ride the TTC around town, every corner of Toronto is accessible from 8 Gladstone Avenue.

The streetcar along Queen West is a good option for those wanting to reach the subway, as it makes a stop at both Osgoode and Queen Stations on the Yonge-University-Spadina line. This streetcar service also runs 24-hours, for late nights at the office — or the bars. Alternatively, passengers can make use of northbound buses that make their way up Ossington — or Dufferin Street. Using the TTC, Pearson International Airport can even be reached in about an hour via the UP service from the Bloor GO/UP station.

Drivers can zip around the southern edge of the city using the Gardiner Expressway, which can be reached in no time via Jameson Avenue. From here, residents can even reach Pearson in only 20 minutes. And while Richmond and Adelaide Streets are great one-way streets for drivers, these are equally great routes for cyclists. From here, bikers can make their way toward the city centre, or they may ride south toward Lake Ontario in order to merge onto the Martin Goodman Trail.
